If you work outside in the cold, wind and weather, your clothing should follow the multilayer system. Several thin layers warn over each other provide better warmth than one thick layer of clothing. The multilayer principle is a very flexible way of preparing yourself for a range of conditions both indoors and outdoors. Transport, warmth and protection against the weather are the key jobs of functional work clothing. Built up layer for layer, functional clothing responds to temperature fluctuations and changing weather conditions. The aim is to keep the body as a constant “operating temperature”. Combining individual pieces of clothes per layer creates a strongly functioning system of base layer, warmth layer, weather protective layer and not only protects against the cold, wind and wet, it protects against overheating and perspiration too.
